Two things that are pretty essential to a great Mexican meal are beans and tortillas. So when my friend, Steve Sando, who clearly knows beans about Mexican food (Steve is founder of Ranch Gordo, just opened SF location at the ferry building) said that The Burr-Eatery makes “gossamer wing flour tortillas”, I take him at his word. (On a side note, Steve’s Rancho Gordo-Xoxoc Project help small farmers continue to grow their indigenous crops in Mexico, despite international trade policies that seem to discourage genetic diversity and local food traditions).
