Friday night food crawl along 24th St. in the Mission- this week!

Newcomer Wise Sons Deli is participating with knishes and Jewish street food

The good weather is here, and so is the return of First Fridays, a nationwide small and local business support movement that caught on in San Francisco last summer, guess where: in el corazón of the Mission: lower 24th Street. According the the Mission Community Council “First Fridays festivities are hosted by multiple cities across the nation to showcase and bring new business to a specific area or neighborhood.  Taking place the first Friday of every month, neighborhoods invite the general public to explore the local restaurants, watering holes, and enjoy art and music shows.”

The event includes a food crawl along 24th street between Mission and Potrero, and will include the following eateries (I’ve tried to list them in geographical order) and special offers. Check out the cool, interactive map on event sponsor Lower 24th Street Merchants and Neighbors Association website, which allows you to plan your munching. Plus there’s drinking (no fun to eat if you can’t drink, right), art exhibits, children’s activities, music and more.

Additional sponsors include the SF Office of Economic and Workforce Development in collaboration with Local Initiatives Support Corporation and Supervisor David Campos. Co-sponsors include El Mensajer, Guardian, SF Weekly and Asterisk Magazine
