If you haven’t had a chance to meet Brandon Arnovick , or seen him buzzing around the Mission on what seems to be a converted Meter Maid/Man scooter, making deliveries with a minimum carbon footprint; tune into to Cupcake Wars’ recent episode with the Yo Gabba Gabba theme, and you’ll get an inside look at Mission Minis proprietor and his “awesome” head baker, Veronica Sanchez. The great thing about Food Network, in case you are not a viewer (seems unlikely if you’re reading this) is that all shows are repeated frequently in the week subsequent to their original screening, so search this week and you’ll still have a chance to see a local boy on competing in the big leagues.
Brandon acknowledges the influence of this Mission on his flavor profiles, and calls out his Aztec Chocolate (with a hint of cinnamon, learn more about Mexican chocolate: La Diferencia– five cooking ingredients with an accent) and Cinnamon Horchata. Watch the Mission Mini team create cupcakes with Avocado Buttercream frosting (talk about your Cali cuisine), Aztec Chocolate with a strawberry meringue and a Pumpkin Spice cupcake with Dulce de Leche Cream cheese frosting. So proud of Brandon as he makes it almost all the way — have a soft spot since we both began our Mission-based food businesses together. It’s so much fun when you watch someone you actually know compete! So meet Brandon at Mission Minis on 22nd and Capp and tell him MyMission SF Tastes set you!
